Applications & platform
We didn’t build two products. We built a way to design them.
ArcherZyme® and SmartArrow® are the first two commercial outputs of our technology platforms. The part that does the targeting is designable, so the same approach can be pointed at new bacteria, and new problems, on demand.
Proof the platform works
Two engines, already commercial.
Each is a different way to act on a target: Archer™ selectively acts on an individual bacterium; Forge™ addresses its biofilm. Both are clinically validated and shipping today.
What “platform” really means
The targeting is designable.
Both engines share the same architecture: a targeting protein that recognises one specific bacterial species, joined to an action (selective enzymatic action, or biofilm targeting and delivery). The targeting protein is the part we design. By re-engineering its sequence, and tuning other properties of the protein, we can aim the very same platform at a different organism.
The targeting domain
A protein sequence engineered to recognise distinct surface features of one target species, while leaving the rest of the microbiome undisturbed.
The action
Archer™ selectively acts on the target on contact. Forge™ addresses its biofilm and can carry a payload. The action is reusable across targets.
Redesign, re-aim
Change the targeting sequence and tune the protein’s properties, and the same proven platform is pointed at a new bacterium, for a new application.
The one rule
A clear, studied species-to-problem link.
We can design for any application where research has established a clear correlation between a defined, specific bacterial species and the problem to be solved. Where that link is documented, our platform can be aimed at it. Where it isn’t yet, the science comes first.
How we design a new application
From target to custom protein, in-house.
Designing a new targeting protein is a capability, not a guess. It draws on know-how and proprietary tools we have built in-house.
Define the target
Start from a published, studied link between a specific bacterial species and the problem. Pin down the surface features that make it recognisable.
Design the protein
Our protein-design and computational-bioscience capabilities engineer a new targeting sequence, and tune additional properties of the protein, for selectivity and performance.
Build and validate
Produce the candidate by precision fermentation and test it: selectivity for the target, sparing of beneficial species, and activity, before moving toward formulation.
Scale and supply
Proven candidates move into our end-to-end, GMP-aligned production, the same path that took ArcherZyme® and SmartArrow® to commercial scale.
Where the platform can go
Candidate adjacencies, demand-led.
Each of these has a documented or emerging species-to-problem link. They are directions the platform can take, prioritised by partner demand rather than pre-committed.

Co-development & IP
New proteins are new IP, and we can share it.
Every protein we design for a new application is a novel invention, and a fresh IP opportunity. We can co-develop it with a partner and co-own the resulting IP, giving that partner genuine, defensible exclusivity rather than an off-the-shelf ingredient. ArrowBiome stays flexible, and structures co-development, licensing and supply to fit the needs of the market and the client.
Novel IP
A newly designed targeting protein is patentable on its own merits.
Co-developed, co-owned
Build it together; share the IP. Real exclusivity for the partner.
Flexible by design
Co-development, licensing or supply, structured to fit your market.
